Farewell

The tears keep falling as we dearly miss our beloved Champers. Our beautiful toy poddle of the last 131/2 years has passed away. Its hard to except the fact that she is no longer going to come running to the door with her happy barking and wag of the tail. No more cuddles on the lounge watching movies. Who going to finish off the left overs at dinner? Tevan is finding it the hardest and Leticia knows that she is in dog heaven playing with all the other puppies. But I still call her name and in the corner of my eye think she is there. We all loved her dearly and will miss her forever. She is now at peace and will forever be remembered.

How Time Passes Quickly

Wow a few months later and I'm back .... not for to long just thought I better type something so you know that I am still here and kicking. Very busy at the 2 stores at the moment with stocktake finally over I have a lot of backend stuff to catch up on now. Hopefully I will see past the bookwork soon and back to enjoying life more. But someone (me) came up with a bright idea to start a Flower Soft Club at Crafty so it took off bigger than ever expected which now my spare time is now designing projects for the club which is soooo fabulous as I love playing with Flowersoft. So touch base again soon to catch up with the life of me. Bye

Monday, June 1, 2009

Wow this year is moving fast. I can't beleive it is Winter. This also means a buzy time at the shop with setting up for stocktake, but tomorrow I am off to Bumble Bee Crafts for a Trade Class with Lance Anderson from Rusty Pickle. This will be fabulous. I first met Lance 3 years ago at Scrapbooking and Beyond Trade Conference and had the best workshop at the event. The following year we were lucky enough to have Lance teach a class in store at Scraps to Share in the Brassall Shopping Center - it was arrr great Pirate Party. The best news is we have Lance again this year and will be back to school going popping mad with inspiration.

The class will be held on the 4th June at 6pm for a 6.30 start $80.00 p/p which includes the kit, a signed photo with Lance, drinks and supper plus lots and lots of FUN. All you need to bring is a smile and your basic tool kit (tacky tape also).

I will post some photos tomorrow night of my day at Bumble Bees.

A Few days of rain creates this....

IMG_1715, originally uploaded by Trisha-Anne Hoare.

Well this is the Bremer River Bridge just down the road from Crafty and also the bridge to my kids school. I took this Thursday morning at 8.30am after dropping the kids off at school. There is another smaller bridge to the right of the river sign somewhere under all that water. By 10.30 that morning we had to pick up the kids from school ... they were just over the moon.

Blogging?

My wonderful son Tevan ask me the other day what's a blog? I mention that it is like an online diary, done on a computer instead of a book so we can easily add photos and make it look pretty. So I starting to show him other blogs and my friend Megan's blog that I follow. He soon released that it is a great way to share ideas and information with family and friends. Next thing it was can I have a blog I could put my lego pictures on it LOL. With a giggle and "I will have to think about it", I managed to sidetrack his mind off the blog topic.

After talking with Tevan my DH starting asking more and more about my ideas for my blog. Questions about the shop blog and why I haven't started it yet? He now understands why I am always asking how to do this on the computer or how to do that. I'm still learning how to do things on a blog before I start on the shop blog so that I can teach the staff to work on it also. I don't understand Html at all and not to bright when it comes to computers. But he also asked do people really look at different blogs or do they only go onto friends blogs? Well that started a whole discussion on things I have seen over the last few months on other blogs and why I love it so much now, but not to sure how you get yourself out in Blog Land?

See I first learnt about blogs through a customer at Crafty - Julie asked me to order the Somerset Studio Artful Blogging book - ordered in volume 1 had a little look but didn't really take note or understood what it was all about. Ordered in the volume 2 and had a closer look this time and OMG started looking at the blogs listed in the book and have be inspired since. It is amazing how everyone see the world in a different light. Willing to share and inspire others with words of wisdom, creative crafts and unreal life experiences.   Then I decided after talking with Megan - who had a blog already, that I will take the step and start my own blog. Weeks later came up with a name and began to type.   Still working out how to add things to my site so is very much a work in progress type blog at the moment, but having lots of fun learning new things along the way.

Hopefully soon I will have the courage to start the shop blog... not to sure what everyone will be looking for in our crafty blog but have a few exciting things planned, just got to work out how we do it on the blog side of things.... keep you updated.

Wealth of Knowledge

Have you every had your brain working overtime that you can't even think straight... I can tell you my mind at the moment is going 100 miles an hour. After our 3 day business seminar in Sydney (Trevor and myself - no kids for 3 days yipee - i missed them at the end) and sharing many life stories with other business owners you see everything in a different light. Well I see rainbows and ideas are bouncing off the walls. I need to get back to earth an start to focus and set new goals to make all these ideas work. BUT HOW? I stay awake at night till well midnight 1am thinking. So began reading and this works to the point that I'm asleep and the books with me in bed, but wake up first thing still thinking of it all and wanting to keep reading and not get the kids ready for school. I think I need HELP... It is amazing the knowledge people are willing to share when you are with like minded people. I was very much inspired by Peter Daniels and Justin Herald - to completely opposite people that had a wealth of knowledge. So I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to 2 people who mentioned to us about the seminar - it was the best inspiring 3 days, well worth the time out from our family life and work.

School Disco

My 3 kids had a school disco on Wednesday Night 6th May which they just had to go to. They were all excited but spent most of the time eating the sauage sizzle and stayed outside. But it was still 2 and a bit hours of fun I guess.

Mother's Day Gifts

Mothers Day was full of giggles, hugs and kisses. My 3 wonderful children surprised me with the above gifts. Tevan my eldest was so excited to give me the scrapkit he purchased at the school Mothers Day Stall - best of all it is a boys themed kit which he wishes to add his photos too. Kyarnin our middle child was keen to get me flowers this year and kept this plant hiding somewhere in his room until mothers day. He made sure it was watered daily by spraying it with my water bottle (wondered where it disappeared too). Leticia with her giggles all weekend - try not to tell mum was Ky's words to Leticia- was just as excited as the other 2 boys. She made a beautiful Flower Cone with a special mothers day verse and photo on top, a handmade card plus purchased a note book and coin purse from the Mothers Day Stall at school. I was completely delighted with the thoughts that came with these gifts. Thank you all for making mothers day a special day filled with love and memories.

Learn New Things

As you can see been playing around with Flickr. LOVE IT! But I now need to work out how I use it with this blog. As you can see below already tried 2 test runs. First just a simple test. Then next came a photo which is one of Melissa Frances Chipboard House Kits - created this when she was over in Brisbane at Bumble Bee Crafts in a workshop for the Retailers. Next I would love to add a collection to the side bar area of my blog? Not to sure if it is possible yet I think I will need to research about this a little more. Hopefully it will be a gadget I can add simply.

Happy Easter

A Happy Easter. May it be filled with happiness and lots and lots of Chocolate.

I was going to be posting this picture earlier but having family issues over the past few months, which seems to never end, has caused me not to post to much lately. Anyone would think our family is cursed at the moment - we are only ever receiving more bad news than good.

What a different Easter I have had this year! It all began at Thursday night, got a phone call from my mother asking to take a phone call from Pathology about a blood test my brother Tim had that morning ... not good news at all. So Trevor and myself did an emergency dash to Dalby to pick up Tim and get him to Hospital right away. But to make it really short it looks like Tim has leukaemia (I think thats how you spell it). So we have been in and out of the PA Hospital since Good Friday, waiting for all the blood test and bone marrow test to find out the full level of the leukaemia. My parents unfortunatley have not been able to get to the PA as my father has just got out of Hospital (Sunday afternoon) in Tara for Cancer in his leg so they cann't leave Chinchilla at the moment, so its just Trevor and myself to handle the current situation.

So we really haven't celebrated Easter with our children this year ... we didn't do the easter hunt or take photos, so I guess I will have to make it up to them sometime throughout the year.

I hope everyone else had a fabulous Easter.

Learning the Ropes

I'm Back... Just had a few very busy weeks both with family and a little with work, so finally getting back to my own time.

I'm very pleased to say that I worked out my Time Problem ... with a little help as someone mentioned to me that there is a date and time setting with blog programs so go looking and you shall find. So little me starting clicking all these buttons in the back end and finally found the time and date. Yippee I now know what day I post in. A big Thank You to that someone (you know who you are). Now I just got to learn how to add other things like photos and change backgrounds etc. isn't it fun learning new things!

As a reflection on the past few weeks I would like to share one thing with everyone...

Everyday is a blessing, cherish the moments you share with family and friends, you only have this time once with each other, make the most of it, dream big dreams, live like there is no tomorrow, give that special someone a hug and mention how important they are to you, pick up the phone and hear their voice, laugh and cry with them or just send a special hand written note. For these times you share will become treasured memories that we will forever hold dear to our hearts.

Time Headache

Ok it's been a week .... been a little busy at work and with the family so finally got time today to write up a new post.

Now I am a little confused about the date and time when we post here in OZ! Now I know my first post was on Sunday the 1st of March but I just noticed that it is actually Saturday the 28th Feb. so I believe that we post in US date and time. So I will slowly get my head around the fact that us little Aussies are ahead of the Blogger Company in the US. I think I might type a note that has my date and time just for little old me with my non thinking brain LOL.

NOTE: 7th March 2009 11.34am

Welcome

WOW the way we communicate in the world has changed so much over the years. I still remember writing letters to my friends and family - I even collected writing/stationery sets since I was 8 years old, but now everything is done on the computer via the internet. So as you will see I am an old fashioned person at heart and the computer thing is a new frontier. This is my first attempt at a blog, I haven't got a facebook or myspace page (hope this is what it's called) so this is a BIG step for me and a learning curve in the process, so please have patience as I face my fear of the computer world.

So I will like to start by saying WELCOME and I am pleased that you found your way to my blog page. I wish to create a blog that tells people about ME as I see the world through my eyes and emotions. I want to share with my family and friends my journey through life, my highlights, passions, struggles and triumphs. It will be a part of me that is expressed from my heart.
